Happy New Year!

This was quite a year for the Walker family.

In March of 2009 we found out my wife was pregnant. In July we found out that we’d leave Orlando after just two years and move home to New Orleans. When people ask how things are going, I say great. We love being home. Still, it’s been a long year. Some people decide to have a baby, others switch jobs and some move. We’ve done all three since August. I’ve been looking forward to January for a while now with the hope that things will slow down a little for us. The past few months have been a whirlwind.

All that being said, 2009 has been a year of blessings for us as well. Welcoming our second son and returning to work at WDSU in the city I grew up in has been wonderful.

New Orleans is working its way back and 2010 will be critical. A new mayor will take office and that person will bring new hope to City Hall. Here’s to a prosperous 2010 and the city’s continued recovery.

What better way to start the new year than with a Saints’ Super Bowl win? The road to the Super Bowl is called Poydras Street. Who Dat!

  1. WELCOME BACK SCOTT THE NEWS AT 4:00 PM WAS NOT THE SAME WITH OUT YOU DOING IT.

  2. Same to you Scott. This is sorta like pushing a rope, but from the SF Bay Area, welcome home! While I live far away, NOLA will always be home. I’m a product of De La Salle HS (back when it was all boys, lol), my sister still lives there in Kenner, my mom fled Katrina and resides in Atlanta (but still roots for our Saints). Let’s pray that the Saints can get back on track.
