Today's Coverage: Looking Ahead

Port Fourchon, LA — I’ll head to our broadcast location in Grand Isle in a couple of hours to get ready for today’s live broadcasts of WDSU News at 4, 5 and 6. Yesterday’s coverage went exceptionally well. I’m looking forward to the personal stories we’ll air today.

Some of what you’ll see includes:

> The moving story of a 4th generation oyster fisherman who is struggling to pay the bills. Going out on the boats is all he’s ever done. For 46 years, that was his life. Now his boats sit idle and he doesn’t know what’s next. He has no plan B. But he was encouraged after meeting last week with President Obama.

> Jefferson Parish councilman Tom Capella will join us for a live interview to talk about the new barge plan to protect Grand Isle. Approval is expected soon.

I hope you’ll join us for another day of special coverage at 4, 5 and 6 p.m.
