Media Release: Jefferson Parish 2013 Mardi Gras Schedule

2013 CARNIVAL IN JEFFERSON PARISH

Carnival season in Jefferson Parish spans four weekends of family fun, excitement, and parades! We encourage all citizens and visitors to visit Jefferson Parish to take in more than a dozen parades on the schedule. Due to Super Bowl XLVII, there will be no Carnival parades in Jefferson Parish on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, 2013.

The Krewe of Little Rascals will celebrate its 30th Anniversary and kick-off the season on Sunday, January 20, 2013.

The Krewe of Adonis starts the Westbank parades Saturday, January 26, 2013, beginning in Algiers and ending at Oakwood Shopping Center.

Saturday, February 2, 2013, the Krewe of Alla will roll at noon on the Westbank with a new route starting at Behrman Highway and Belle Chasse Highway, and ending at the Gretna Farmers Market on 4th Street and Huey P. Long Avenue in Gretna.

Sunday, January 27, 2013, the Krewe of Thor rolls along the traditional Metairie route.

Friday, February 1, 2013, the Krewe of Excalibur will parade in Metairie followed by the Krewe of Atlas.

Saturday, February 2, 2013, the Krewe of Caesar rolls in Metairie.

The new Krewe of Hera kicks off the Lundi Gras parades on Monday, February 11, 2013, at 6:30pm, followed by the Krewe of Zeus along the traditional Metairie route.

The Krewes of Centurions, Isis, and Napoleon will parade as regularly scheduled.

The Krewe of Argus will roll on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 10:00am, followed by the Krewe of Elks Trucks and the Krewe of Jefferson Trucks in Metairie.
Family Gras 2013 will add to the excitement of Super Bowl XLVII!

Family Gras will take place February 1st and 2nd on the neutral ground of Veterans Memorial Boulevard across from Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie.

An ideal location to see the pageantry of Carnival and enjoy the outdoor concerts with live music on the Festival Plaza Main Stage by national artists and Louisiana’s own.

Enjoy the free concerts, Fabulous Flambeau Court and Beverage Zones, kid-friendly activities, Art Walk and more. Costuming encouraged, come out for Fun Friday wearing your carnival colors and join us Sports Saturday wearing your favorite team colors.
