Legendary NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall, who called a record 16 Super Bowls, has died at the age of 82. He would have turned 83 next month.
Summerall spent more than 30 years at CBS and another eight at Fox before retiring in 2002.
Summerall and John Madden formed arguably the best duo to ever announce football games. Summerall’s succinct style was one-of-a-kind and his retirement left a noticeable void in the play-by-play world.
The Dallas Morning News first reported the news around 4pm.
