‘Mr. Monday Night’ Strikes Again

Mr. Monday Night, Drew Brees, struck again in the Superdome against the undefeated Miami Dolphins. And he struck hard. The Dolphins defense was shredded by Brees and Co. for 465 total yards, 397 of which were passing.

On Monday Night Football, Brees has been downright unstoppable, guiding the Saints to nine straight wins since 2008. In fact, despite the team’s wretched pre-Sean Payton history, the team now has 17 wins against 17 losses all-time on Monday Night.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane:

  • Nov. 24, 2008: Saints 59, Packers 29. Brees threw for 323 yards and 4 TDs.
  • Nov. 2, 2009:  Saints 35, Falcons 27. Brees threw for 308 yards and 2 TDs.
  • Nov. 30, 2009: Saints 38, Patriots 17. Brees threw for 371 yards and 5 TDs.
  • Sept. 20, 2010: Saints 25, 49ers 22. Brees threw for 254 yards and 2 TDs.
  • Dec. 27, 2010: Saints 17, Falcons 14. Brees threw for 302 yards and 1 TD.
  • Nov. 28, 2011: Saints 49, Giants 24. Brees threw for 363 yards and 4 TDs.
  • Dec. 26, 2011: Saints 45, Falcons 16. Brees threw for 307 and 4 TDs.
  • Nov. 5, 2012: Saints 38, Eagles 13. Brees threw for 239 yards and 2 TDs.
  • Sept. 30, 2013: Saints 35, Dolphins 17. Brees threw for 413 yards and 4 TDs.

For those scoring at home, that’s 28 touchdowns and 2,880 yards from Drew Brees. Don’t bet against Brees on a national stage.
