In January, I traveled to Park City, Utah and the Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of “Gleason.” The documentary chronicling Steve Gleason’s fight with ALS turned out to be one of the most critically-acclaimed films at Sundance and will be released in theaters in several cities, including New Orleans, this summer. It will also stream on Amazon.
The film, like Steve’s journey, is amazing. The 30-minute special (below) that aired on WDSU-TV this morning includes footage and interviews with Scott Fujita, Drew and Brittany Brees, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Steve and Michel Gleason and more. The special was written and produced by me and shot and edited by WDSU chief photographer Megan Mackel. I’m extremely proud of how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it.
