Olympic viewing reached record levels during the London games. In fact, the summer Olympics was the most-watched event in TV history. Lions/Saints a Big Winner for WDSU, NBC

Early numbers for the Saints-Lions prime time matchup on WDSU show it was a huge ratings-winner. New Orleans  led all markets with a 58.2 rating/76 share. Detroit was next with a 41.1/61. In the recently concluded November sweeps period, WDSU showed year-to-year growth in newscasts at 5 a.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. WDSU News at 4 registered a 4.6 rating, up more than a full point from last November. Here’s the full story from the T-P.

Saints/Packers: 4th Highest-Rated Program in New Orleans History

In case you missed it, the Saints/Packers NFL season opener was the 4th highest-rated program in the history of New Orleans Television. The Saints had the highest local TV market rating of all NFL cities for 2010, according to Nielsen. The rest of the top 10 shakes out like this: Steelers, Packers, Chiefs, Colts, Vikings, Ravens, Patriots, Bills and Browns.
